Webcam won't work in Firefox

Hello, I am a long time viewer first time poster. I have searched everywhere I could possibly think of and cannot find a solution. I use a Acer Extensa 5220MI. I cannot get the built in webcam to work in Firefox. I used to frequent on www.stickam.com and since using ubuntu I have stopped due to such problem.

Also I cannot get the built in mic to work with ANYTHING

I am using Ubuntu Hardy 8.04 with all the latest updates

I got the same problem. I used to log in Meebo, and use my webcam via Flash on Hardy. That doesn't work on Intrepid now. :( Testing on Hardy 8.04.2 now...
