How destructive is the upgrade?
I would like to upgrade, but would hate to redo some settings etc. It seems like users have the same NVIDA card issues for example. Should I just back up my xorg.conf file and replace it after the upgrade? What advice do upgraders have prior to upgrading?
Re: How destructive is the upgrade?
You can go ahead and back up your xorg.conf file, but you shouldn't replace it after the upgrade unless something goes wrong.
Re: How destructive is the upgrade?
My advice, wait for 8.2, and read some of the problems here people are having after an upgrade. Unless you are good with console commands and such.

LOL, the ubuntu numbering scheme doesn't work like that.
8.04 is April 2008 (the point release in June will be 8.04.1)
