eeepc 1005ha wifi not turning back on
Using the default install of netbook remix with all updates. Say I open for offline reading something than turn the wifi off to save same battery. If I turn the wifi back on in a couple of minutes everything works fine. Otherwise the led turns on, but there is no activity and the network manager does not pick any more networks. So far only a restart would solve the problems. Of course the windows counterpart works like a charm.
Re: eeepc 1005ha wifi not turning back on
Ubuntu, like every Linux distro, is something for the courageous hackers. So there is a stand-by option... for those who want it. But that's about it. So most USB devices I have have to be pulled out after screen-blanking and remounted. What about the Wifi in a laptop. The same! This is linux. But how do you plug it out when it's some chip inside the box? Well, you take the module out than put it back in. Otherwise it won't work. How about people with a monolithic kernel? I really don't know. Linus T. was so fierce to defend his project that was dated before conception. Lucky me somebody invented the kernel modules!
