I'm seeing posts on the internet where people have gotten that machine to work. I recommend starting a support thread for getting it working.

Re: Laptop INCOMPATIBILITY List.
1) Version Of Ubuntu: 18.04 LTS
2) Laptop Maker: Lenovo
3) Laptop Model: Ideapad 330
4) Issue(s): I`ve been using Ubuntu for a few weeks, no too intensively though; so far I have problem only with the keyboard, but a very frustrating one, particularly if you type a lot of text:
The combination "Shift" + "Home" / "End" for selecting text doesn`t work in any text editor unless I press NumLock first. When asked to save a file, pressing "Shift" + "Home" / "End" behaves as if pressed only "Home"/"End": it only moves the cursor at the beginning/end of the text without selecting any text.
NOTE: I have used Ubuntu 14.04 briefly on a Fujitsu Siemens Notebook (Amilo series, I don`t remember the exact name of the model) and then I had the same problem, even worse: "Shift" + "Home" / "End" did not work at all. However, when I logged in as a Guest User, the keyboard functioned properly.
