Re: Welcome to the Forums - Introduce yourself here
For some reason I never noticed this thread was here... Hello! I'm Jacob, also xtjacob. I'm 17, and I've been using linux for about 4 years. I started with Fedora, and used that for awhile, then switched to Ubuntu after. Once Unity came out I switched to Fedora 16, but I'm considering going back to Ubuntu once 12.04 comes back. Eventually when I get the time I'd also like to help with development somehow...

Re: Welcome to the Forums - Introduce yourself here
Hello; I'm new here. Online I go by Zukaro (and for a last name Travon).
I'm not super new to Linux but somewhat. I haven't used it a ton yet, I've still mostly been using Windows, although I'm slowly switching over to Ubuntu 12.04.
I've tried a bunch of different distros but never really found one that was perfect for me; Ubuntu is the closest to that (really it's just because the UI looks like it belongs; on many other distros it doesn't look things belong). For awhile I didn't really like Unity but now I think it's fine.
Recently I've dualboot Ubuntu 12.04 with Windows 7 Home Premium on my gaming PC.
Also; I like foxes (A LOT). :P
(they're my favorite animal :3)
(AND IT IS IMPORTANT THAT EVERYONE KNOWS THAT)
Some of the things I'm interested in are pixel art, video games, computers, and space.
(also, I'm a furry :P)
If you wanna see some of my pixel art it's all here: http://zukaro-travon.deviantart.com/gallery/34249867

Best,

Hi everyone, I am Darrell and I started my linux experience with Mandriva but soon after switched to Ubuntu. Absolutly awesome experiences so far and love the community support when troubleshooting issues.
Re: Welcome to the Forums - Introduce yourself here
Greetings to all.
I have been a lifelong Windows user till I made the leap to
Linux. I don't know anyone who uses Linux, so I am having
to teach myself along the way. I have run into a lot of
hair pulling problems, but most have been solved.
I really enjoy using Linux and am looking forward to learning
more about it with your help of course.
Thanks.
Bouvet
Re: Welcome to the Forums - Introduce yourself here
Hello all!
I'm a 16 year old IT-management student (I hope that translated well :p)
My journey began about 2 years ago when I heard about linux from my computer teacher.
I downloaded ubuntu (by his advice) and I liked it but I didn't stay with it because there were so many other great distros to try!
So I went distro-hopping for a long time... I've tried lots and lots of distros never using them more than 2 weeks. It was fun to explore all those fantasting projects but after 2 years of distro-hopping I felt the need for something more permanent...
I needed something fast and beatiful... and I've found it: xubuntu!
I was kinda surprised that the distro that matched the best with me was one with xfce since I never really liked it. But they have completely changed xfce and I love what they have done with it! It's just so beatiful and comfortable!
And of course the fact that I ended up running a circle back to the *buntu-camp was funny too :lolflag:
Anyways, I hope that my hopping-days are over and I can finally settle down... and so far, it's looking good...
P.s. and who knows? Maybe I'll be able to help this great project somewhere in the future?(after a lot of learning off course)
