View Full Version : [kubuntu] Install CD boots as Live?

I downloaded the 8.10 Desktop i386 CD a few weeks ago and installed it on one of my computers with no problem.
But today, I tried installing it on another machine and it loaded Kubuntu Live automatically.
This second computer is an old Compaq Deskpro Pentium 3 and the CD drive is /extremely/ slow! which makes working with live practically impossible.

Can anybody help me figure out why the CD didn't boot in install mode and went to Live?

Thanks!

You can still install it from there by clicking the install icon on the desktop. But if you have an old machine, better use the alternate CD to install on it. It's a text based installer but should be real easy to follow.
