Hi All,..

appologies if already threaded but i need help...

I installed the Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG into my Advent 4211 and then did a clean install of Ubuntu 8.10 (no windoze)......

No wireless.

Having read other 'help' guides I then removed network-manager and installed Wicd (and also ndiswrapper.common). Now using the Wicd window the wireless scans and sees other networks but it will not connect...

can any one help... I will be sooooo grateful.. thanks

I have the same wireless chips and the same experience when running from the 8.10 Live CD.

I have a Linksys WRT110 router, and if it is set on WAP the wireless scan does not detect my router. It detects other routers in the neighborhood, but not mine. Have found no info about this yet. It works on 8.04.

To clarify: 8.10 scan works if router is set to WEP.
