I'm going to be installing 8.04 on my wife's computer shortly (Windows 2000 security support is finally getting phased out) and would like to get some feedback on how others manage system backups with today's vast amount of digital photos and videos. We have well over 100 GB of photos and videos collected over the years and don't really want to include these in regular system backups. How do you manage your digital media files when backing up your system?

I'm thinking of creating a separate partition for digital media and just not including it in the backup process. I use Clonezilla to image my root and home directories. Obviously, if I create a separate partition, media files will not live in home any longer.

Just curious how others handle this situation?

An external drive comes in handy.
