Good Day,

I am trying to run version 8.10 on a HP 2133 Mini laptop. I have
it on a thumb drive, and when I run it. I get an error that states that I need a driver from:
linuxwireless.org/en/users/drivers/b43#/devicefirmware

Everything that I am reading states that 8.10 has the
driver needed.

Looking at the config on the laptop, I have the BCM4312 chip
set for the wireless. I am ok, that the 802.11A is not supported. I do not use it anyway.

I see that everyone else is getting this installed.

I do not have a CD Drive to install it, that is why I was trying
to see it worked from a USB Drive.

Any help would be great.

steven, try to build your usb stick with the ISO in my signature (GUI install). the steps provided should allow you to reach a $ prompt and edit config files and whatever prior to typing startx.

another idea would be to use the alternated CD to build the USB stick, but i have a feeling that the usb boot method does not allow the alternate CD as a choice (non GUI install).

the ISO in my sig is for models other than ks870at... i just haven't updated my sig and site.

Thank you... I will try that. No, a USB is the only
method that I can do an install. I do not have a CD
drive that I can use. I have a Firewire one, but these
do not have firewire on them.

I will let you know how it works...
