View Full Version : [ubuntu] 8.10 Update Reduced Graphics Problem

I just updated to 8.10 and many of my problems seemed fixed. There had been some errors in the install, but things seemed to be running smoothly.

Then I restarted my computer.

It rebooted saying that my configuration could not be calculated and that ubuntu would boot in low graphics mode. It booted and I tried to fix everything, installing my restricted ATI drivers, changing the screen resolution of both my monitors.
I then restarted again to see if things were completely fixed, and it told me again that configuration was wrong and that it would boot in low graphics mode

only now, I cannot log into the account I had changed the resolution on.
when I log on, the monitor is completely fuzzy and nothing can be seen.
Luckily I have another account that I am trying to figure out what is wrong

My graphics card is a ATI radeon x300

any help would be much appreciated.
