The ubuntu 8.10 disk stated before installation that installing within windows means ubuntu can't hibernate.. Ever since I installed ubuntu, windows hasn't gone into sleep mode and I either have to turn the monitor off manually or just shut the computer off.. did i misread or could it possibly be something else i overlooked?... I've tried unplugging mouse/keyboard and that doesn't do anything, and I checked the power settings in windows and set the monitor to go off at the same time as the screensaver so i know that if I see the screensaver, the dumb thing didn't shut the monitor off  ... Thanks for your help guys!
