When Does The GIMP Dev Branch Start?

We saw the release of 2.6, and the end of the 2.5 dev branch, so when does 2.7 start developing? i want new features!

The first revision was made two days ago (http://svn.gnome.org/viewvc/gimp/trunk/), although it could have happened any time after the 2.6.0 stable branch (http://svn.gnome.org/viewvc/gimp/branches/gimp-2-6/) was created. New features will be added to "trunk" (which is henceforth the 2.7 development version), with bug fixes being merged over to "gimp-2-6".
