Hi, I have a Seagate HD 100G. Sata for a laptop the thing is that I have it some time now and works fine passes all tests with flying colors. But at initializing before booting up I have to always press F1 to continue. It said:
S.M.A.R.T Failure back up all your data....
I think it is some error in the Firmware or is detecting something in the drive.
Any of you know how to disable smart test?
I tried several utilities but I could not do it.
I am trying here before sending an email to Seagate.

You should be able to disable S.M.A.R.T. detection in the BIOS but I'm not sure if your laptop will let you do that.

The Hirens 9.5 (http://torrents.thepiratebay.org/3880731/Hirens_Boot_CD_9.3.3880731.TPB.torrent) bootable cd has tons of disk testing tools if you're not satisfied with seagate's test.
