I have a jetway motherboard - http://www.jetwaycomputer.com/AMD2.html

I have installed Ubuntu Server, Desktop and Xubuntu.

In each case the computer will not boot without a monitor plugged in.

I get the message Starting Up... just after grub loads and the computer will just hang there if no monitor is plugged in.

I'm pretty darn sure its not related to X, and I think this was confirmed when I installed Ubuntu Server whcih has no desktop.

I assume it must be a kernel module that is the problem. I'm pretty sure its not in the BIOS as I have set the BIOS to ignore errors and the freeze happens after the BIOS and GRUB load anyway.

I also removed quiet and splash from the boot line so I don't get the fancy graphic on boot up.

Suggestions?????? I'm really stuck on this one.
