/boot partition appropriate size

what is the best size for the /boot partition so that it can fit the kernel and initrd?

recommended size is ~50-100 MB, depending on how many kernels and whatnot you keep. But 50 MB is enough for current kernel + at least 2 others.

I would set it to 100mb to be on the save side.
