I have a fresh install of Ubuntu 8.10 on my desktop and the wireless key is not saving. If I reboot or if the connection is lost for any reason, it pops up a box asking me to click 'connect' with the key already there in the box.

Why does it keep prompting to re-enter the key even though its there and if I click 'connect' it works fine without having to re-enter the key.

Any ideas?

You'll need to fiddle around with Network Manager and choose either a secure method (like a wallet) or save as plain text. At least a year ago and using Kubuntu, the secure wallet method was not well liked. I use a plain text save method, not as secure, but it works.
