I am using Linux Ubuntu 8.04 and I am trying to install the latest NVIDIA graphic drivers. The installation failed because I got the error message, "CC version check failed". It goes on to say that I have to set the CC environment variable to the name of the compiler used to compile the kernel before restarting the installation. I am unaware as to how to complete this. Could someone advise or steer me in the right direction. Thank you.
