View Full Version : [ubuntu] Re-enabling wifi applet in top menu bar

Installing Ibex, I had some disk integrity problems which led to a number of desktop applets getting disabled. Before this, I briefly had a really nifty new wifi monitor applet in my top menu bar that showed graphically the quality of the ambient wifi access points. Any idea how to get this fine thing back?

I've already got that running, but it's acting a little weird. The icon has a white-on-red little cross in the lower corner and the tooltip says "networking disabled", even though the box for "Enable Networking" is checked (and even though I am on-line with wifi and posting this). And, sadly, no sign of those glitzy wifi strength readouts.
