i just installed ubunt 8.10. But when it starts up it always crashes,hangs,or just goes black right after hardware abstraction layer hal is starting. anyone point me to some reading or pointers to solve this problem. ive been googleing different things all day and going in circles. the same thing on this install happens on 8.04 and 7.10. i have fedroa 9 installed i had a little trouble booting it up because it would fail at cpu spd service but i could enter into interactive mode and stop the process before it started. anything could help please.
