Hello everyone,
I've a problem after i install ubuntu 8.10.

Let me give you my specs first:
Acer Aspire 5710
Intel Centrino Duo 2.0Ghz
1 Gb ram
ATI Radeon HD 2300 (128mb)
140 GB HDD

and I'm running vista (Home Premium) 32 bit at the moment as my primary OS.

the live cd seems to be Working perfectly....no hardware issues...my display, internet, sound everything work fine.

So i start installing using the wubi installer....performed a reboot...started up ubuntu....everything was going fine....it started installing and copying files and stuff....it went on till 100 % and then after that i just get a black screen with a blinking cursor....I wait for 10 mins...nothing happens

So i perform a manual shut down and then start up ubuntu...it loads like 30% and then it gives me these msgs:

hardware drivers failed to load

Fake start-stop daemon

and then it prompts me for my username and password in the shell. I enter them correctly and then it gives me loads of error msgs:

-bash: /dev/null:Permission denied

I tried reinstalling again and it hangs again after installing 100%.

What should i do ??? :(
