After upgrading to 8.10 (64bit) Ive noticed that after about 15 or so hours logged in the process x-session-manager locks itself in at 17% of cpu (and Ive got a 2.5ghz Intel quad core). At that point the gnome applications menu stops responding.

Clicking on icons on the desktop spawns the correct process (for example an instance of evince when I double click a pdf) but it never actually opens. Gnome hotkeys for opening a terminal, etc also stop working. Funnily enough, if I double click the icon for a mounted drive on the desktop then nautilus launches, but I cant get anything else to load.

Beyond that lock up however, any programs I have running continue working fine (FF, Amarok, pidgin, couple docs and pdfs, etc).

Im running the proprietary nvidia 64 drive from their website, 64-173.14.09. I guess Ill try upgrading that??
