partition manager don't display anything

when installing on a DELL laptop (latitude d520) the partition manager that shows after the time settings , does not show any partition or option except "exit" and next whih gives an error !!!

any help plz

Well don't worry I am in the same boat as you.

For some reason Gparted refuses to display my patitions, despite the fact that I have 8.04 running.

You would think that it would at least recognise the partition already set for 8.04.

Well Since I don't have the answer,I will wait with you for someone to help.

hi ur problem is quite strange maybe ur cd is currupted check ur disk and i also recommedn u to use an alternate cd here is the link
