Okay, I get to try this one more time as it is a last resort option:

System is:

CPU: Intel Core2 Duo 2.66GHZ
RAM: 2 GB Memory
GC: nVidia 6600 GT (PCIe)
MON: REALsync PF77-BK Flatscreen (VGA)

Had a problem with the auto-install a few weeks back for Intrepid, so we rebooted. Suddenly, after the load of the Ubuntu "fill-bar" screen, the monitor clicks twice (like it's going into a video mode) then it just sits. Black Screen of Death. No movement whatsoever.

I've tried to use KNOPPIX in order to try and figure out what's going on, same problem after it tries to run the X server.

Anyone got any info on what could be the problem?

If you are not dualbooting; you can reformat your entire drive with Gparted Live CD. If you are; try formatting the Linux partitions.

I'll check it and see. Sorry about the edit, I forgot about GParted.
