I downloaded Ubuntu v8.04 LTS online along with the InfraRecorder, burned the image onto a 700MB disk, and rebooted with the disk inside as I was instructed. Along the line just after the Linux Kernel loads it goes straight to the command line where it says something like "(initramfs)". I try to use commands to get out but it seems stuck and have to take the disk out and restart it. What went wrong? Was it probably the CD?

Did you do md5sum on the iso?; did you burn at 4x or less?. Do not use CD-RW

I used another v8.04 disk and am facing the same problems. It goes straight to the command line and doesn't go to the rest of the installation process.
