Hi there,
Using windows full time on both my machines XP MCE & Vista.
I am offered a good deal on a sparingly used XPS 1710, should I go for it?
The resaon for asking is that Ubuntu 8.10 has NO hardware issues with XPS 1710, since I tried it on mine.
But the question is, since I believe in a single OS an a machine, what would I do with loaded hardware in the 1710...e.g 4 GB of Physical Memory, while when using Ubuntu I keep the swap at 512 MB....what benefits can I get from such a machine?
It's confusing me, but shall have a nice fully compatible machine with 8.10 to learn & play with.
Hoping to hear your thoughts,
Regards,
Yezinki.
