View Full Version : [ubuntu] Restricted Drivers
November 27th, 2008, 02:30 PM
I'm running Ubuntu off the hard drive right now, and honestly, things are terrible. There's no WLAN, no 3d, and no better screen resolution without the use of restricted drivers. To use these drivers, I need to install Ubuntu on the hard drive. Alright, my question is will the drivers actually work if I do install Ubuntu? Is there any chance that they will not work? I really don't want Ubuntu as my permanent operating system if things are going to stay the same.

I am posting from virtually the same machine (check my spec) and everything is working beautifully, thanks very much (and has been problem free for months)! I am using restricted drivers for Broadcom (b43) and nvidia graphics card without a hitch. :) Go for it!
