I bought a used dell latitude d610, and guess what? after just one week it stopped working.

After giving it to the local repair guys I found out that the Chip "Max 1845" is damaged and needs to be replaced. Its an old chip and i searched for it everywhere in my city, no one had it.

even the other D610 laptops used other models, seems like i was the only one with this chip.

K so i searched the net and foud it here : http://cgi.ebay.ph/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120330267248

Problem is that this guy accepts paypal payments. Paypal is not available in my country :/

K so long story short, I need this chip. Those of you in hardware, might have it on an old mainboard?? or if anyone has the d610 model and it is not working or anything can you please see if it has this chip. I may salvage that :)

And yes I know how weird this request is :/

Thanks

I would suggest you contacting Maxim India to find a distributor or dealer in Pakistan.

Keep in mind that ic's come in different package varieties so you will have to specify this to them else you might end up with the wrong thing.

You might want to check out Newark Electronics -- they show some versions of it:

(search on "max1845" without a space)
