View Full Version : [ubuntu] hellllllp!!!! ACPI Too old

I tried to run ubuntu from the disk and it said that my acpi was too old. I have a athlon 64 with acpi date of 1995 and the cut off is 2000. I tried to go to AMI to get an update and they said I need to contact the manufacturer. I went to the manufacturers websight and they sent me to a different sight which said my bios was for an intel processor ??????? I am sooooo cornfused beeewildered. please help. I have been waiting for my ubuntu disk for several months and am determined to not have it collect dust!

What happens if you boot with the "noacpi" kernel option?
