Prepare Partitions problem

I'm fairly new to the ubuntu world but I have installed it on two of my computers at home which are both windows xp at one point. I'm currently trying to install it on my Mac and heres what happens.

I try to continue anyways and this pops up.
Sorry for the bad picture quality I only have my iPhone on hand.
If you can read the picture below it says

"No root system is defined.
Please correct this from the partitioning menu."

And as you can see I don't have any options in the partitioning menu. All the options are unclickable.

Whoa! It looks like Ubuntu can't even detect your hard drive!!! :shock:

The buttons on the partitioning screen will only be active if and when you select a partition/hard drive.

Since you're using a Mac, what type of processor does it have? If it's a PowerPC, then I don't think Ubuntu is compatible with your system.
