I've used likewise-open to join a new ubuntu system to a windows domain, I've also added the domain admins by using visudo, I've already logged in with a domain admin and tested sudo with success.
My problem is that many administrative applications are not in the menus and if I try to add them by editing the menus, the checkboxes get automatically unselected.
All applications are shown if I log in with a local account, member of the admin group.
I can run those applications using sudo and the console but what exactly is stopping them from being shown on the menus? Is Ubuntu checking for members of the admin group or something? If that's the problem, can I add an AD account to the admin group?
