regrade 8.10 to 8.04 by mounting .iso possible?

i upgraded by mounting an alt iso image http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=186360 can this be done in reverse?

this is what i intend to do if latest configurings haven't somehow stopped 8.1 crashing.
