Hello everyone,
I have a strange problem on Ubuntu 8.04, updated to the latest updates; quite often music playback gets stuck and the only way to make it work again is to reboot (logout & login isn't enough).
This happens both in Rythmbox and Amarok, that is, once either one is stuck, also the other is stuck as well; restarting the apps doesn't solve the problem either.
They use a different backend so I don't this is an issue related to gstreamer or xine; I also don't think it is an alsa or soundcard drivers problem because sound keeps working regularly (I can regularly watch & listen youtube videos for example). Restarting alsa through alsa-utils doesn't help either.
Maybe it is something related to ffmpeg or similar but I really don't know where to look; can anyone give me a pointer to where to look to find what in the pipeline gets stuck?
