Which was a first step towards upgrading further.
I got the freeze on "configuring locales". Read the posts about it, rebooted in rec mode from previous version (.15), asked to depackage, which it did. Now, I'm stuck at the beige screen; wouldn't load further.
Tried to fix dpkg again, several times, with same results: asks me to do it manually. When I do that from the promt, I get the "qeuelen" message and it says it can't do it.
Don't know where to go from here... stuck.
Help very much appreciated.
