View Full Version : [ubuntu] unable to see hibernation button in logout MENU

as i was not having a swap file so i was unable to hiberate and suspend my laptop..

i followed some instructions to create a swap file..
after creating a swap file i was able to suspend the computer
that means the suspend button is now working...


but suddenly hibernation button has disappeared from the logout MENU....

i can see

suspend
shutdown
switchuser
lock screen
restart


but there is no hibernation button....

plzzz help me out...

Did you create a swap file or a swap partition? You can only hibernate if you have a swap partition, as all the contents of memory get stored in the swap partition during hibernation.

b4 i was not having a swap file...
but
i can able to see the hibernation button in logout menu...

but now i have created a swap file and i am unable to see the hibernation button even in logout menu...... :-(

how can i see the hibernation button in logout menu...
???
