Seems like my mirror of just the binary repos is around 20 Gb, but that's compressed data. I would guess 40-60 GB? Just a wild guess.

Wow. That's a lot smaller than I expected. I was thinking you'd say 1-2 tb.

Looking at OS disc, they sell the complete repositories for Ubuntu 8.04. It says it is 19 GB.

http://www.osdisc.com/cgi-bin/view.cgi/products/linux/ubuntu/repo.html?ad=distrowatch

"Product Description
This Ubuntu 8.04 Software Library is a 5 DVD set with 19GB of software for the PC platform. The DVDs contains all of the packages from the officially-supported (main repository) and community-maintained (universe repository) mirrors, as of July 1st, 2008."

you have to consider that many packages conflict and/or fill the same role, so technically i don't think you could...

Yeah, that's why I said in the first post "that I could together," for this I was thinking the latest version of each. Does the complete repositories on this disk only count the packages that are canonical supported?

20 gigs, compressed?

Time to make my mount point "/" partitions a LOT smaller.

deb packages are compressed, so extracted they may be a lot bigger.
