8.04 --> 8.10 wireless internet problem

After update, my laptop is unable to connect to wireless networks. When I click the network-manager icon on my panel it does display the local networks detected, so the card appears to be working. I am at a University and they have multiple wireless networks, of which my computer can see all, but connect to none. It gives the same error no matter which network I try to connect to: 'The network connection has been disconnected'. Any ideas?

Stick with 8.04.1 until 8.10 has had it's first update (8.10.1) then try again, their seems to be a few problems with wireless networks and nvidia cards...
