When I have to enter on a friend's pc using the default VNC viewer from Intrepid it is horrible... Really slow, not configurable... So, I've decided to use WINE and REALvnc viewer for windows witch works gorgeously, and I can totally feel the speed improvement.
Anybody knows a good native alternative for using in intrepid?
Thanks!

Try rdesktop to go from linux to windows.. its installed by default and uses native RDP.
or in KDE, try krdc. or gnomes universal connector, just choose rdp instead of VNC.

Thank you guys. Of course I would like using RDP as is much better than VNC. But, I converted some friends to Ubuntu, and I need to support them and Ubuntu only uses VNC :(

Why not try FreeNX?
I've heard good things about it, and it's more secure than plain VNC.

Vinagre is so slow (god damn awful), I am not sure how it made it into Ubuntu, before Hardy there was Vino, which I still use.
