I am trying to upgrade to Intrepid but I have a problem with my Firefox profile, which I am used to keep on a samba share on a NAS device. The NAS works fine. I tried to create a new Firefox profile in Intrepid with the usual command

firefox -profilemanager

The profile manager allows me to associate the new profile to an empty directory on the samba share. However, Firefox doesn't start: it simply creates a .parentlock file and then stops. Everything used to work fine in Hardy.

Thanks for any possible help.

After a lot of googling and many experiments, I think I am not able to solve the problem. So another question: is there a way to downgrade firefox to 2.0 in Intrepid? or to upgrade nautilus to 2.24.1 in hardy?
