I am running Ubuntu 8.10 and following instructions on this site for changing desktop to Mac OSX:
http://maketecheasier.com/turn-your-ubuntu-hardy-to-mac-osx-leopard/2008/07/23

My issue is I get the following error when attempting to add the Global Menu Applet to the bar:

The panel encountered a problem while loading "OAFIID:GNOME_GlobalMenuApplet

I am sure it's because when I run this command I get the following error:

sudo dpkg -i *.deb
Errors were encountered while processing:
libgtk2.0-0
libgtk2.0-bin
gnome2-globalmenu-applet
gtk2.0-examples
gtk2-engines-pixbuf

I am a new to Linux, and love it! Any help in getting this error fixed would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, I am new to these forums and am having the same exact problem. Does anybody here have a fix for this? Or must we wait for an updated version of the Global Menu Applet for Ubuntu Intrepid Ibex (8.10)? Thanks in advance for your help! :)
