What happened? More than 2 hours were the forums dead!

I thought we had been slashdotted.

I couldn't find anything on there though that would divert traffic here though.

It's still choppy. This happened a short while ago, when they were upgrading the hardware of the server.

This site doesn't exactly have a good uptime.

I think Canonical should invest a bit more in the servers, without these forums, Ubuntu is nothing.

Maybe you should lay off ubuntuforums for a while...

Nothing new here. It happens every now and again. (downtime, that is)

Not DDOS, no. It happened when someone made another post about how Windows was crap and evil, that Ubuntu was the bee's knees and everyone should be using it and a new poll was started "Do you like Linux?".

The servers simply couldn't cope. The admins must have removed the thread (it's gone now) and convinced the servers that it was ok and won't happen again, honest.
