Ok, Canonical desktop 9-5 support costs about $250 per year...

250 / 12 = 20.833

So if Canonical charged $20 or even $30 dollars a month for "start-up personal support," then they could definitely make a lot more money (i don't know a single person that wouldn't be willing to pay for that), right?

in fact the only reason they haven't done it (IMO) is because they don't have the man power to support that kind of demand...

Comments?

I don't agree; I feel that's a bit too much. I would, however, gladly buy support if they had a model more similar to Red Hat's: it's $80 a year for web only support.

80 / 12 = about $6.50 a month

I don't need live phone support, but affordable web support would be nice. I just can't justify dropping $250 for something I'm probably only going to use a few times. But that's not to say that other users wouldn't buy it.
