doens't appear the top top Toolbar

help i cant find a way to appear my top toolbar with minimize,maximize,close buttons. i run ubuntu 8.04 - 8.10 gnome and suddedly my top toolbar in the windows has disappeared how can i bring it back.
Please help

Have you tried metacity --replace in the terminal (Applications > Accessories)?
