Gutsy to Hardy = easy. Intrepid seems not...

This is only my second experience of a distribution upgrade.

I coped ok with Gutsy to Hardy, no problems at all, everything worked fine & I dont recall many (if any ) pleading help messages about broken systems because of upgrading to Hardy.

What was the difference between the two in terms of their complexity ? Was Hardy a lesser type of upgrade ? Is Intrepid something advanced that drivers etc have not caught up with yet ?

Not quite sure how things stand complexity wise, however, there are several known issues. They are mentioned in the Release Notes (http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/releasenotes/810#Upgrading), so take a look.
