I have done extensive research, and I have been unable to discover why I can't get my hands on aluminum case badges. I've been referred many times to the free paper stickers, and have read about the various projects that have, at times made aluminum stickers available. I guess my questions is, why can't I just buy some aluminum case badges, and why aren't they available in the canonical store. It seems like a good idea to just sell them to whoever wants them, but that does not seem possible. Any ideas?

Have you looked at System76's site? They'll send you an Ubuntu badge if you send them a self-addressed stamped envelope.
Here's the link:http://system76.com/article_info.php?articles_id=9

Is that what you are referring to?

I agree, something like this would be great if Canonical could sell them or sell something like them.

You can make your own.

You need a sheet of these (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/LOT-OF-108-SILVER-FOIL-JAR-LABELS-JAR-STICKERS-5085_W0QQitemZ290274079911QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_De faultDomain_0?hash=item290274079911&_trksid=p3286.m63.l1177#ebayphotohosting) a laser printer an an Ubuntu logo (http://www.imediapress.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/04/ubuntu-logo.gif).

I've seen the ones at System76, and have considered them, but I saw the aluminum ones created by the Massachusetts Team and immediately wanted some.

I'd love to have some myself, but I'm guessing the associated costs (start-up, production, distribution et al) make the project unattractive to corporate bean-counters.

Think: Profit margin

It's been almost a year since I've seen this discussed. Any ideas?

I have a machine that can make monochrome vinyl stickers, but I'm too lazy to get a trademark license from Canonical for the use of their logo.

EDIT- By the way, I believe ZaReason sells aluminum Ubuntu case stickers here (http://www.zareason.com/shop/product.php?productid=16197&cat=251&page=1).

See, now that is what I'm talking about, at least I think. I don't know if they are high quality like the Windows or Intel stickers, but it's definitely a step in the right direction.
