I'm trying to install soundblaster drivers and ubuntu doesn't seem to like to run *.exe files. I've completely updated ubuntu and added additional programs that looked as though they might help, but to no avail.

Secondarily, I've tried to install drivers for the motherboards sound drivers, but again the system doesn't seem to like to run *.eve files.

Can someone give me a clue?

Thanx!

Linux does use or run .exe files. The majority of drivers are already available by default, unless you have really wired hardware. Remember Linux is not Windows, most of what you know about computers is of no use here. What problems are you running in to?

Like I said it doesn't want to run the exe to install the drivers for my soundblaster audigy soundcard. This isn't a super machine. Pentium 1.8 with .5 gig memory. But the system doesn't want to run the exe for the sound drivers for the motherboard's built in sound. It's probably something simple, but that's where stuff can get just plain silly/stupid.

Thanx for your help.
