I hav ubuntu 8.04 Hardy installed on Intel Core2Duo, 1GB RAM and 160 GB HDD SATA, CPU@1.4 GHz

I am trying to install linux dc++ client on my system but it says gtk not installed. I have installed the required version. but it gives me the following message

What might be the problem?? Please someone help me out with this!!

How are you trying to install the program? Are you trying to compile it from source? Why not install the version that is available in the repositories?

Go to System-->Administration-->Synaptic Package Manager and click the search button. Search for:

dc++ client

Mark it for installation and click apply and it's done.
