View Full Version : [ubuntu] How to make SIP account on Pidgin for VoipBuster

Can anyone help please i have problem to make account for VoipBuster on Pidgin. I found VoipBuster server "sip1.voipbuster.com" and i have user and pass for account on VoipBuster but i cant connect. Can anyone help me to make setting on Pidgin for VoipBuster.

Hi.
I believe pidgin can't handle the sip protocol.
Try another application like Ekiga or Twinkle.
For voipbuster I recommend using Twinkle as it has G.711 sound protocol and gives you better sound quality than Ekiga.
By the way, the sip server has changed, in their site (http://www.voipbuster.com/en/sipp.html) there is sip.voipbuster.com
However since last week I can't connect to this new server or to the old one. Don't know why.

The SIP is not yet supported in pidgin. There is a bug for that:
