If you upgrade using method described here (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/IntrepidUpgrades#Upgrading%20Using%20the%20Alterna te%20CD/DVD) what happens to packages which are not available in the CD, but which (old versions) are installed in hard disk? (Such packages can be from official ubuntu repositories even though not included in alternate CD and obviously they are not upgraded by that method.)
Are there any advantages in using the method over plain network upgrade (even if you have network connection)?
