Hi, any help here would be appreciated.

I have followed this guide
http://www.howtoforge.com/compiz-fusion-ubuntu-gutsy-gibbon-nvidia-geforce-fx-5200

Everything has worked perfectly like the guide has explained. I am now on step 4, its on page 2
http://www.howtoforge.com/compiz-fusion-ubuntu-gutsy-gibbon-nvidia-geforce-fx-5200-p2

When i click custom, it switches to it, but when i click preferences, nothing happens. I also cant apply the custom setting ie. when i close and re-open appearences and check the visual effects, normal is selected again. What do you guys think? It seems like i cant apply the custom setting for some reason, and thats why compiz isnt starting. I also tried the advanced desktop settings, it didnt start compiz either. Thanks.

Bump!

I heard that some cards are blacklisted so i check and my Geforce 6100 wasnt on the list. But i tried

SKIP_CHECKS=yes compiz

in my terminal anyways.

It just messed up firefox and i still couldnt run compiz-config.

Sorry for so many posts but i can't find the edit button?
Anyways, compiz runs, but i cant configure it.
Did i not install something?
I dont know what to do, but im really excited to get started with compiz as soon as i can figure this out. Has anyone else had a similar problem?
