For some reason, when I boot to the newest Ubuntu install CD, when I try to press enter to install or try, it does not work. Enter works everywhere else jsut fine. I'm suing a normal US laptop keyboard, would a USB normal keyboard work? Or is there something else I can do?

edit:

Also, the harddrive will not list any partitions in Parted Magic. All it shows is an empty partition, even though it can mount them. Could installing Ubuntu repair this? Or if any of you are familiar with parted magic (who's website is down) if there is a way I could fix my harddrive from that? Also, I've been thinking about buying the newest Aconis home 11. I have an upgrade, so it would be cheep. Worth it? I have external Hardrives that I backup full partitions to... but I'm thinking that that solution would be easier.

Edit 2: And about the partition issues...
I have
1 empty partition, about 40GB
2 Server 2008 partition, about 50GB
3 XP partition, about 50GB

4 NTFS storage, about 50GB
5 Ubuntu, about 20GB
6 Swap, about 2GB

The issue of not being able to see the partitions from Gparted started when I installed Server 2008 (Vista is derived from it.)

I don't know if bumps are legal, but I think about three pages have passed by.
